Homestead Preserve
Hot Springs, Virginia
Homestead Preserve represents 11,500 acres of pristine mountain and valley landscapes in Bath County, Virginia. The land originally served as a natural protective buffer for The Homestead Resort, much of which is mountainous terrain with thick glades of hardwoods and evergreens. Taking a conservation-based approach to development, we conveyed 9,250 acres in a “below-market value sale” to The Nature Conservancy and placed a conservation easement on an additional 925 acres with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. In tandem with the conservation holdings, Homestead Preserve is dedicated to keeping alive the natural and human heritage of this historic landscape.
