Clear Springs
Seeing suburban sprawl from Charlotte, North Carolina creeping closer to their beloved hometown of Fort Mill, the Close family dedicated themselves to the thoughtful development of their family land. The vision was to blend progress and preservation across 7,000 acres, creating a balanced community focused on sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship. At the heart of the plan is the 2,100-acre Anne Spring Close Greenway, a nature preserve with lakes, community facilities, camping, equestrian and 27 miles of trails.
In addition to the Greenway, the Clear Springs Plan includes two light industrial parks and multiple office parks, all of which have attracted corporate citizens whose values align with the project’s. Three mixed-use villages have been added, each with a balance of residential and commercial use, connected by miles of trails, sidewalks and open space.
